AutoCAD Import
AutoCAD is the industry leader in 2D and 3D CAD design for architectural and engineering drawings. Simul8 2013 allows you to import directly from AutoCAD 2013 in just 3 clicks.
On the Insert Tab of the ribbon, select the option for AutoCAD Illustration from the Illustrations section.
You will then be able to search your machine for an AutoCAD drawing file (.DWG). Once you have chosen the file to import, Simul8 allows you to select which layers you would like to import into the simulation. You can also change the height and width of the overall drawing.
Once the image has been placed, you are able to move it to any location within the simulation window. Please note that once the drawing has been imported, you will be unable to modify the visible layers or image size; to do this, you will need to re-import the image using the steps above.
