Command Line Options
This is a technical topic for IT administrators and systems integrators who are integrating Simul8 inside other applications.
Simul8 can be started from the command line with a number of command line options listed below.
For example:
S8.EXE “c:\my simulations\demo1.s8”
Will open Simul8 with the simulation demo1 open on the screen.
S8.EXE “c:\my simulations\demo1.s8” /R
Will open Simul8 with the simulation demo1 open and running.
Options:
File types: .S8, .XS8 and .S8C (command script) files are all valid and names should be inside “quote” marks. Command script (S8C) files automatically start running - do not use the /R option with S8C files.
/R start running the opened simulation
/T start a trial as soon as the simulation is opened
/RT start up in “Run Time Only” mode (as if the security protection option had been used when the simulation was saved
/Viewer start up Simul8 as if it were the free Simul8 Viewer (avoids having to install the viewer to test simulations in Simul8 viewer)
