Boost your financial analysis with our latest update!

This update introduces a series of improvements to streamline your financial modeling and reporting in Simul8.

  • Finance Report Enhancements: The Finance Report is now conveniently located in the Results Manager under a new finance tab, making it easier to access and manage.
  • New Finance Settings Dialog: We've added a Finance Settings dialog, accessible directly from the finance section on the Build tab or the Results Manager. This dialog allows you to set goals, priorities, baselines, and targets that are reflected in the new Finance Report.
  • Revamped Results Manager Interface: Enjoy a refreshed look and feel with updates to colors, tabs, and the title bar in the Results Manager, making navigation more intuitive.
  • Finance KPI Tiles: New finance KPI tiles are now available in the simulation window. These tiles, which can be toggled via checkboxes, provide real-time updates on progress as the model runs, based on the baselines and targets you've set.
  • Cost By Work Type Button: We've added the "Cost By Work Type" button to the 2024 ribbon, making it easier to analyze costs based on work type.
  • Extended Currency Support: Now supporting up to three-character currency symbols, accommodating a broader range of international currencies like KR and HK$.
  • Streamlined Finance Values: Simulation objects now default to zero for finance values, allowing you to assign finance data only where needed. For existing models, you can easily clear previous default values with the new "clear finance values" button.
  • Label-Based Activity Finance: A new feature allows activity finance to use label values for time-based costs. We've also made this option more accessible with a "use label" button in the finance dialogs.
  • Advanced Resource Costing: Resources now include several time-based cost types, including utilization, salary (annual), and hourly costing. These options help you better simulate real-world cost scenarios.
  • Improved Visual Logic Commands:
    • Set Object Financials: Expanded to support various cost types for resources.
    • Set Finance Baseline & Target: These new commands help you manage your finance KPIs more effectively by setting baselines and targets within your simulations.
    • Finance Matrix Access: We've made the Finance Matrix easier to find by giving it its own button on the ribbon, helping you update and manage finance data more efficiently.

Additional finance enhancements

  • Overhead Costs & Revenue: Overhead costs and revenue inputs are now more visible and easier to manage within the Finance Settings dialog.
  • Advanced Cost Management: Simulation objects now feature "Other Costs" and "Other Revenue" properties, offering more flexibility for complex financial scenarios.
